An Introduction
How Does the World Work?
The Gilded Saga: Sutton is the first volume of an emerging adult urban fantasy series that is like the Dresden Files meets Percy Jackson meets Parks and Recreation. The overall plot is this:

"Through previous failure, aborted integrations, or lapses in judgement, magical secret agents Simon, Hima, and Lias find themselves assigned to a town in the middle of nowhere in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. Nominally allied with a local magic storage center, these agents crash into the supernatural and mundane features of life near the unfettered wilderness.
Upon the threat of Witch evangelicals calling for conquering, Simon, Hima, and Lias must figure out where their loyalties, relations, and pasts lie."

The general plot is episodic, with Simon, Hima, or Lias dealing with the unique features of living in a small town in a world where the supernatural is real, but not everyone knows of it. Many of their misadventures deal with Michigan urban legends and folklore. Hailing from a big city in an alternate dimension based around Norse Myth, these agents are in for a big culture shock.
Simon Kuai
A native San-Franciscan and holder of a magic sword. He used to work in wetworks and took the Michigan job as an excuse for an extended vacation. Simon is short-sighted and cold, but capable of genuine connections.
Hima Harvester
A former medical worker with magical bodily manipulation abilities. Lacking much of an opinion on anything. Separated from her direct employers for the first time since she was hired, Hima may finally have the freedom to consider her true power.
Lias Bollidae
A common Fae-Dragon, a special Fae Branch that allows even the common members a shield of invulnerability. An anthropologist determined to prove themselves, Lias struggles the most with their dual loyalties to Michigan and their employer.
